The club scene in North Hollywood back in the mid-80s? It was nothing short of a pressure cooker. Everyone who was anyone was cutting their teeth at the F.M. Station, trying to turn raw energy into something the labels couldn’t ignore.

That place was our proving ground. I remember one of those original showcase nights—the room was packed, the energy was thick, and Jeff and I were absolutely in our element. We weren’t just playing; we were working that crowd, feeding off the noise, and really finding our groove. The locals lived for that kind of high-octane rock and roll, and that night, we were the kings of the stage.

Looking back, the F.M. Station was everything. It was loud, it was gritty, and it was where it all felt real. It’s a shame to think that the property’s been gone for years now—torn down and turned into something else entirely. But for those of us who lived it, that energy is still there. R.I.P. to the F.M. Station, and to the golden age of the SoCal scene.

Does this version capture the vibe you remember from those nights at the F.M. Station?
